Population Media Center (PMC) strives to improve the health and well-being of people around the world through the use of entertainment-education strategies, like serialized dramas on radio and television, in which characters evolve into role models for the audience for positive behavior change. We have numerous programs in various countries worldwide including Mexico, Jamaica, Brazil, Nigeria, Senegal, Vietnam and the Philippines. Our in-country programs are based on the Sabido method, which states that serial drams can be used to both engage audiences while imparting social values. Therefore, we utilize the idea of radio and television serials to address the issues we deal with. Namely, this is overpopulation, which brings forth environmental issues, HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, women's empowerment and child advocacy.
